SUPPORT ACT LIMITED VICTORIA
A NEW BEGINNING

There’s a whole new mood at Support Act Limited Victoria these days! And it’s being caused by a major restructuring of the Committee, following the departure of original leader Bob Valentine.

Music Industry legend BRIAN CADD is now representing SUPPORT ACT LIMITED VICTORIA on the national Board and has gathered an impressive group of experts and experience together to form the new Victorian Committee:

Keith Potger

KEITH POTGER (Chair)
As a founding member of the internationally famous Australian group The Seekers, Keith Potger is already known to countless music industry professionals and fans of the group alike. Awards such as Australians Of The Year 1967, numerous Platinum and Gold Record achievements and concert tours have kept the group’s image alive and well for over four decades. He has been involved in considerable charity work, notably as Patron of Variety WA, the renowned children’s charity, since 2001. Keith currently is supporting the release of both his solo CDs, SECRETS OF THE HEART and SUNDAY with performances in major venues around Australia. He is honoured to have been offered the position of Chair of the committee of Support Act Victoria and is looking forward to helping raise awareness of this organisation.

SARA HOOD (Marketing)
Has an exhaustive background in public relations, marketing and communications. She’s worked with Ericsson, Yamaha Music, American Express, Philips consumer electronics, Sony consumer electronics, and various State and Federal government projects. She brings to the Committee much valued marketing and communication skills.

JOHN GRANT (Technical)
An Industry pro for over 30 years, John is a musical director, session musician, arranger, and producer, and has composed for stage shows and theatrical productions. He’s also been a music technology consultant, product manager for a major music importing company, and conducted training seminars all around Australia, Asia, and the Middle East. John brings a wide spectrum of technical and general knowledge to the Committee.

VIC CRUMP (Computer and IT)
Originally a prominent guitarist during the punk period in Melbourne, Vic now owns and operates a highly successful computer company installing systems and networks in businesses. He is extremely skilled in IT and will be indispensable as our Industry (and thus our organization) moves more and more online.

MAE PARKER (Organization and Personnel)
Mae has enjoyed a long career as a singer/performer in both the live and studio music business around Melbourne. She was one of the first Victorian volunteers and has worked tirelessly in all sorts of areas to promote SUPPORT ACT LIMITED VICTORIA and to plan and execute various fundraising activities. Mae brings her outstanding people skills into the new committee, together with her boundless energy and enthusiasm.

The new Committee met for the first time last week and has already devised an impressive agenda of projects and events for the rest of this year and beyond.

SUPPORT ACT LIMITED CHAIR, Meryl Gross says:
“I am thrilled with the new structure of the SAL Victorian Committee and the expertise, professionalism and enthusiasm they bring to the organization. Their commitment to building SALVIC as a key player in the national SAL picture is very much appreciated and the Board looks forward to working closely with them to maximize their outcomes. We would also like to acknowledge all the hard work of the inaugural committee over the past year and offer them our sincere thanks.”

INAUGURAL VICTORIAN CHAIR, Bob Valentine says:
“It’s great that Brian Cadd & the new committee will not only continue the great work that Support Act Victoria started 2 years ago, but, will move it ahead - the ongoing care & well-being of musicians couldn’t be in better hands”
